Since 1976, Fairfax Surf Shop has been a staple of skateboarding in the Northern Virginia community.
The Fairfax Surf Shop is pleased to team up with the City of Fairfax to offer a fun, quality, skateboard camp experience for youth interested in skateboarding. Skaters will be placed into age/ability groups. Various skating styles covered (street, vert, rails, ramps, etc…) Learn or improve on key skateboarding basics and tricks: ollies, manuals, kickflips, etc. Camp also features skate games, park activities, safety equipment tips and contests. Skaters receive a t-shirt and Fairfax Surf Shop equipment discount. A quality skateboard and helmet are required for the camp. Elbow, knee and wrist pads are highly recommended.
Campers will be utilizing various on-site facilities for camp activities throughout the week. Skaters will get to learn, ride, and complete all week long in the Van Dyck skate park and access an exclusive street course designed and assembled by the Fairfax Surf Shop team on the adjacent basketball court.
Frequent water breaks will be taken under the shaded pavilion next to the skate park. Lunch, snack, and many group activities will be held in the newly constructed and air conditioned Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center directly across the parking lot from the skate park.
